April 24, 2013 Community Involvement On Friday, March 22nd, a group of ETA volunteers visited Cradles to Crayons in West Conshohocken, PA to help sort and package donations. Cradles to Crayons is a nonprofit organization that collects new and like-new children’s items to provide homeless and low-income children with essential materials. These donations are processed and packaged by volunteers and are then distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners. While at Cradles to Crayons, ETA’s volunteers were tasked with matching and packaging clothing outfits for children in need. The clothing packages go on to become part of what Cradles to Crayons refers to as “KidPacks”. KidPacks include a week’s supply of clothing, toys, books and school supplies. This is the third time ETA has had the opportunity to contribute to Cradles to Crayons. Our volunteers shopped through quality-checked items to fill KidPacks the first time they visited Cradles to Crayons, while they worked to quality check donated clothing the second time around.
