Some Common Energy Deregulation Myths:

  • The utility company (PECO, PSE&G, Delmarva Power, etc.) will provide worse service/be mad at us if we switch: NOT TRUE. Utility companies are actually prohibited from making a profit on energy supply, so they're indifferent to who provides it. The utility company will continue to provide your business with all infrastructure needs, and provide service during emergencies and power outages.
  • It will cost me money to switch. NOT TRUE - IF YOU USE ETA ENERGY SOLUTIONS. Some unscrupulous providers are charging "change fees" to move your energy supply from the utility company to them. However, none of our close to 20 suppliers charges a fee. You simply get the rates you want on a future bill... it's really that easy!
  • If my supplier goes out of business, my service will be cut off and I'll incur financial penalties. NOT TRUE. In the unlikely event your energy supply company goes out of business, you will be automatically defaulted back to the utility company without losing service or incurring any penalties.
