Verizon Ethernet services can be broken down into three different subcategories: Ethernet LAN Service (E-LAN), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) and Ethernet Private Line (EPL).

Ethernet LAN Service (E-LAN) is a fiber-based, metropolitan area LAN interconnecting service that connects customer locations together at native LAN speeds and Ethernet interfaces of 10, 100 and/or 1000 Mbps. This service type is ideal for intra-company voice and for companies needing any-to-any connectivity at native LAN speeds.

Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) is an all-fiber-optic network service that connects subscriber locations at native LAN speeds, providing a one-to-many connection. It allows you to pick varying increments of bandwidth, typically in 1Meg increments, so that you can purchase the exact speed that is needed at each location.

Ethernet Private Line (EPL) is a point-to-point Ethernet connection, such as from one location to another. EPL is good for businesses that require a secure, dedicated end-to-end LAN connectivity solution.
