The 2011 Wissahickon Trail Classic

ETA is proud to be a sponsor of the 2011 Wissahickon Trail Classic 10K run/5K walk, which benefits the Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers (WRV).

The Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers is a group dedicated to the restoration of the natural areas of the Wissahickon Valley Park in Philadelphia. They are a member-supported, volunteer-driven non-profit that actively protects and improves that natural environment within the nearly 2,000 acre urban park.

WRV has partnered with over 50 community groups who have spent tens of thousands of volunteer hours planting a countless number of trees and shrubs, removing harmful invasive plant species and more. But they’re only able to continue their great work through the benefit of donations and fundraisers, such as this walk/run.

The annual Wissahickon Trail Classic is a highly visible and recognized event that provides a significant amount of income and widespread publicity to this important organization.

Please note that the run is not for the faint of heart, as it is a 10k over rugged forest terrain. However, the walk is only a 5K and the scenery is beautiful! Either way, running or walking at the WTC is a great way to help out a fantastic local nonprofit while having fun and keeping fit.
